Once you give up dairy, non-dairy foods (I mean, really non-dairy, as in hummus, simple grain breads, fruits and vegetables) taste awesome.
It's hard to find any type of chocolate candy that lacks dairy. Even many dark chocolates (especially American mass-produced ones) contain milkfat. High-end dark chocolate, with high cacao content, is usually dairy free. However, it also isn't that tasty.
But Dancing Star Chunks of Energy ARE! These guys are sold in bulk at Whole Foods and I chose them purely by look and ingredient. Little did I know that they're better than any mass produced candy bar! Keep in mind, I am not touching any type of dairy and very few processed foods. So, if you eat lots of Reese's, mini-Reese's and your favorite snack is a Snickers bar, these do not taste like any of those. They just taste good. Like all Vegan products and other organic, dairy-free products using natural fruit pulp, honey (a number of Vegans will not eat because bees produce it and products containing honey may not be labeled Vegan), seeds and nuts, Chunks of Energy aren't as SWEEEEEET as traditional mass-market candy.
I got the Organic Chocolate Paradise flavor and . . . it so way is. I have seen bicyclists and hikers praising other flavors, like carob spirulina (sounds bad but they say it's good and we all know spirulina is good for you) and vanilla almond.

Portion control: the beauty of non-dairy, non-processed sugar sweets is that you eat a couple and they are satisfying!
